Bamboo Flooring Lines

All our lines of bamboo flooring have natural hues as there is no surface staining and the colouring is integral to the product. They have a natural resistance to UV fading and are allergy free. As a result of their method of manufacture, they are retardant to fire, termites, sunlight, staining from chemicals and scratching or surface indentation damage. Their multiple finishing with a premium protection coating ensures a non-slip surface, together with a ready- to- install product involving non toxic glues.

Our bamboo flooring is made from moso bamboo timber approximately seven years old grown in approved plantation forests. This ensures optimal maturity of the bamboo timber and its resulting quality strength and durability.

Strand woven bamboo flooring is a new line of bamboo flooring engineered to provide greater strength and density than timber flooring. The strand woven bamboo boards are solid mass bamboo and appear similar to natural timber flooring but the bamboo has been machined down to strands which are heat compressed after having been air dried, treated with insect retardant, coated with low VOC adhesive and left natural or carbonised. The final precision milled bamboo flooring boards have greater density and durability than natural hardwood timber flooring. The natural strandwoven bamboo flooring has a Janka test hardness rating of 14.3kn. The carbonized strandwoven bamboo flooring has a Janka test rating of 15.3 kN. These compare with the Janka test rating of Jarrah hardwood of 8.6kN.

Horizontal bamboo flooring shows bamboo knots in a subtle and attractive pattern. The flooring is made from horizontally cut bamboo laminates laid to ensure maximum stability , treated with termite retardants and glued with low VOC adhesive. The horizontal bamboo floor boards come in the natural tones or the carbonized form. This type of bamboo flooring is not as hard as strandwoven bamboo flooring but is similar to timber hardwoods.

Vertical bamboo flooring is made from bamboo lengths cut vertically to create an attractive fine grain appearance. The slim 5mm thick vertically cut lengths are bonded and treated in a similar way to the horizontal bamboo laminates, with a similar level of hardness.
