Natureed® cladding is ideal for shading. The quality reed cladding comes in rolls of securely bound reeds, which are durable, highly resistant to termites and moisture and low in flammability.
Natureed® is frequently chosen to cool existing pergolas. It may be attached to existing pergola beams if they are suitably spaced. Alternatively, wires or battens can be used to support the Natureed®. In this case the Natureed® is usually clipped to wires hidden from view.
One of the most practical and increasingly popular uses of Natureed® is to install it under existing polycarbonate or alysinite plastic pergola roofing. Natureed® reduces heat dramatically, whilst at the same time providing a lovely filtered light effect. With lights attached to the nearby walls and shining over the roof above the Natureed®, a beautiful effect is also retained at night.
Natureed® shading can be achieved with the Natureed® held within simple frames made from metal or timber . This can give a very contemporary look. It can also be a way of screening with a horizontal plane, for example, in restaurants to hide ceiling ducts or to give privacy from buildings overlooking outdoor eating areas.
Shading can also be created by various retractable screens made with Natureed®. House of Bamboo can make these to certain sizes and sells ready made screens. (see below section on canopies.)
Natureed® is a trademarked product made with quality control and bound properly with non-rusting wire. It lasts well, is easily installed and needs minimal maintenance. The reeds are a natural warm brown colour of approx 5-6mm thickness.
